Be - Do - Have

How many times have you made a new aquaintance, at a social event, and a conversation ensued, in which your new acquaintance proceeded to describe him/herself, in terms of what they did? Sometimes, the conversation devolves into descriptions of possessions. Curmudgeon, that I am, I often interupt and inform that I am only interested in who or what they are and ask them to please describe their 'being.'

People seem to have a problem with their identity and this influences their entire outlook, on life.

People have problems describing themselves as anything other than their possessions or deeds because these rules of engaging life are handed down - not to be questioned but only to be followed. Thus true understanding and contentment are unnecessary for a 'successful' existence.

i heard this from a very wise friend of mine....in a time i was dreading my situation at home and at work... he told me that what someone wants soo soo soo badly to be perceived as that is what he/she lacks the most in his/her heart!!!! (in other words this is a hairy subject in life for such a person)

understanding the bottom line why a person (may be/is) the way he/she is brings me all kinds of peace!!!!!!

i like to know all the possible or actual reasons why things are they way they are! i dont like to feel like i am in a limbo clueless about my surroundings!
just for the record..... :)
i dont think all wealthy people are self-absorbed nor hopelessly hollow and other terrible things.....

i've met some pretty nice wealthy people.... they are all around stand-up persons!!!!! (kind, clever, wise, fun, loving, thoughtful, considerate, consistant, tasteful, intelligent, funny, and much much more.....)

i just hate smugged assh*^#s!!!!
